Who are the Friends of Fletcher Place?

Volunteers
Volunteers work hard at Fletcher Place! They prepare and serve meals to the hungry - last year that total meals served topped 33,000! They help sort donated clothing and work the check out desk in the free clothing store, they paint, and mow, weed and clean, sort canned goods and teach life skills, literacy and computer classes! Volunteers make it happen, they are the Friends of Fletcher Place!

Clients call Fletcher Place their home away from home.
We know each others names and we are eager to hear about success and patient to listen to trials. When extra help is needed carrying in loads or sorting through donated items, the clients are always eager to help out. The clients are often the greeters at the front door and are so very appreciative of the hot meals, classes, groceries and clothing they are able to access. Clients are our Friends of Fletcher Place, too!

What our Staff Members do for us:
The staff at Fletcher Place Ministries are tireless in their work. Of 9 staff in total, 6 have come through our programs - once being on the receiving end and now being able to help others. Our staffing is part of our program in that 6 positions are open as job training and development. Staff in these positions not only work hard to make sure the needs of our clients and volunteers are met, they also are involved in on the job training and education to build their work record and resumes.

This past winter, we were able to be open every weekday offering a warm place, hot meals and dry clothes to our many homeless clients when other sites were closed. The staff is very dedicated and from the neighborhood - they work hard to make sure that we are never closed due to weather!
